The Santa Cruz de Tenerife Book Fair begins its edition at Parque García Sanabria, establishing itself as a cultural benchmark with an offering that combines literary quality and the participation of local writers.

The event, supported by the Cabildo de Tenerife and the Government of the Canary Islands, will run until May 4th, offering a wide range of activities including book presentations, author dialogues, and scenic proposals.
The inauguration, on Thursday, April 30th, will feature the “Solo Palique. On Tour” proposal, which merges word and stage, highlighting the participation of a Canarian writer, providing a contemporary perspective from the local sphere.
Throughout Friday, May 1st, the program will focus on memory, thought, and contemporary narrative. The work Saquen sus muertos, by a renowned Canarian author, will be presented, and “Conversations around María Rosa de Ángel Guimerá” will take place, an activity that seeks to rediscover theatrical classics with a modern outlook. In the afternoon, the works Niñas sucias and El anillo de Faride will be presented.
Saturday, May 2nd, will bring together prominent figures from the current literary scene. An author will present their works La hija and Dos tardes con Joseph Roth, while a leading contemporary thinker will discuss El pensamiento erótico and La potencia afectiva. Additionally, visibility will be given to the Canarian publishing sector with the presentation of Todas las aves de Canarias. Guía de naturaleza and Días de clase.
Sunday, May 3rd, will continue the dialogue between literature and new sensibilities, with the presentation of La viuda blanca and a literary meeting for new authors. Several Canarian publishers will present their new releases, including 365 coplas, Cómo miran los mares, Cerrar los ojos, Perdóneme, Monsieur Flaubert, La pella de gofio, Margarita ojos de luna, and Dímelo en canario. The day will conclude with the show “La Orilla dorada” and the presence of a Canarian poet who will present Y yo a ti and Si el mar no regresa.
On Monday, May 4th, the fair will focus on the future of the sector with the presentation of Las Galletas, concluding a program that balances emerging talent with established authors. The Cabildo de Tenerife reaffirms its commitment to the book sector, supporting fairs, the library network, and creators, understanding reading as a fundamental cultural right.

"The Cabildo de Tenerife continues to support the book sector and its importance as a way of transmitting diverse ideas and realities, not only with economic backing for libraries or publishers, but also with an active presence at the Book Fair that allows literature and its creators to be brought closer to the citizenry."
