The XIX Opportunities Fair in Tegueste will take place on October 4th, transforming Prebendado Pacheco street and San Marcos square into a showcase for local commerce. Organized by the Tegueste City Council, through its Local Development department, and in collaboration with the Association of Businessmen of Tegueste (ASEVITE), this fair's primary objective is to promote and highlight the municipality's businesses and professionals.
Throughout the day, various local businesses and professionals will present their products to the public through special offers and promotions. The fair will not only focus on commercial activity but will also feature an entertainment program, games, and activities designed for the enjoyment of the entire family, thereby fostering leisure, community, and visitor flow to the town center of Tegueste.
The mayor of Tegueste, Norberto Padilla, emphasized the importance of this edition, stating, "this new edition of the Opportunities Fair once again focuses on the importance of our local commerce and the need to continue creating spaces that allow our businesses to connect with citizens." He added that the council aims for the streets to be "spaces for meeting and activity," combining support for the business sector with a day for families to enjoy the municipality.
For her part, the councilor for Local Development, Maura Martel, highlighted the initiative's consolidation by reaching its 19th edition, demonstrating a commitment to proximity commerce. According to Martel, the fair not only allows participating businesses to showcase their products and offer purchasing opportunities but also contributes to the municipality's dynamism. She encouraged citizens to participate in this day designed for all audiences.
The fair benefits from the collaboration of ASEVITE and Volcanic Xperience, which will set up a prize roulette on Prebendado Pacheco street. Furthermore, the initiative receives funding from the Department of Industry, Commerce, Primary Sector, and Animal Welfare of the Cabildo of Tenerife, as part of actions to boost commerce in the island's urban centers.
Concurrently, the choreographic contest Tegueste Urbano will take place, featuring Canarian dancer Rafa Méndez as a member of the jury. This initiative complements the efforts of the Tegueste City Council to strengthen local commerce, support the business fabric, and revitalize public spaces, thereby promoting citizen participation.
