The measure takes effect this Friday at 1:00 PM. At that time, the regional executive will observe a minute of silence in memory of those who lost their lives during the natural disaster that occurred in what is known as the eighth island.
As a result of this declaration, all public events organized by Canary Islands institutions have been cancelled, including any activities dependent on them.
The mourning protocol requires flags on public buildings to be flown at half-mast outdoors. Inside institutional headquarters, the flags must be adorned with a black ribbon.
