The project was recognized for its focus on disseminating public health content using clear language, attractive visual formats, and a close brand identity. The “Canarias Saludable” brand, authorized by the Government of the Canary Islands as a sub-brand of the Canary Islands Health Service, has become established thanks to its corporate colors, clean and legible content format, and a family of avatars accompanying its publications.
The jury of the Empiria awards, in its second edition and endorsed by the National Association of Health Informants (ANIS), highlighted the quality and excellence of the submitted candidacies. The awarded project offers official, evidence-based information on healthy eating, vaccination, physical activity, addiction prevention, and protection against environmental risks, among other public health topics.
Other awardees in this edition included the Andalusian Public Foundation for Progress and Health, the General Council of Nursing, the Directorate General of Public Health of the Canary Islands, and the health service of Castilla-La Mancha. The Special Jury Prize was awarded to Alimentos de España from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
The primary objective of Canarias Saludable is to reach the population in a simple and clear manner, fostering a healthy and safe community. It facilitates direct communication between the technicians of the Directorate General of Public Health and citizens, who actively participate by responding, asking questions, and re-sharing content.
The communication strategy is structured around a centralized website and an active presence on social media platforms such as Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, Bluesky, Linkedin, Youtube, Tik Tok, Whatsapp, and Telegram. The channel currently has over 52,203 followers, enabling direct dissemination of Health Education content.
