The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued an encouraging forecast for the archipelago, indicating that, unlike the peninsula, the islands will not be affected by the DANA. Generally cloudy skies are expected with a probability of weak precipitation inland during the afternoon, less likely in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
Temperatures will remain stable or experience slight decreases, while the wind will be light, with breezes predominating on the coasts. At sea, choppy waters are expected to increase to moderate swells on the east, west, and southeast coasts during the afternoon and night, then tending to rippled by dawn. The northern or northwestern swell will range between 1 and 2 meters.
For Thursday, cloudy intervals are expected to increase in inland areas in the afternoon, with a low probability of weak rains in the east of the central islands. Minimum temperatures will remain unchanged, and maximums will experience a slight rise, more noticeable in mid-altitudes. On Friday, high and low cloud intervals will continue in the north of the mountainous islands, with possible weak and occasional rains in the western islands during the second half of the day.
“"Temperatures, in general, above normal for this time of year."
Despite having been affected by a considerable number of storms in recent months, the Canary Islands will be spared the rains that will move across the north of the peninsula during the upcoming weekend, according to reports from Meteored. The minimum and maximum temperatures forecast for Arrecife are 17-22°C, for Puerto del Rosario 17-22°C, for Las Palmas de Gran Canaria 18-22°C, for Santa Cruz de Tenerife 18-23°C, for San Sebastián de la Gomera 18-22°C, for Santa Cruz de la Palma 17-21°C, and for Valverde 13-16°C.
