Canary Islands Teacher Exams: 8,235 Candidates Vie for 944 Positions
Tests are underway across five islands for teaching bodies like Primary and Secondary Education, featuring a new process of in-person didactic program submission.

A total of 8,235 candidates began the teacher recruitment exams in the Canary Islands this Saturday, spread across twenty-five educational centers on five islands, competing for 944 available positions.
The Ministry of Education has launched the selection process for various teaching bodies, including Primary Teachers, Secondary Education Teachers, Official Language Schools, Schools of Plastic Arts and Design, and Conservatories. The examinations are taking place in centers on Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, and La Palma.
The Primary Teachers body has the largest offering, with 686 positions for 6,686 applicants. This is followed by Secondary Education Teachers (192 positions for 833 applicants), Official Language Schools (seven positions for 162 applicants), and Schools of Plastic Arts and Design (fifteen positions for 180 applicants).
In the extraordinary stabilization procedure for Conservatories, 374 participants are competing for twenty-three positions. The Singular Sectors of Vocational Training, whose exams will be held on a different date, are offering twenty-one positions.

The day began with the first test for the Primary Teachers body, as well as exercises for Schools of Plastic Arts and Design, Official Language Schools, and Professors of Music and Performing Arts. In the afternoon, exams will continue with practical case studies and tests for Secondary Education Teachers and Music and Performing Arts Teachers.
The Ministry has highlighted the coordination of all organizational aspects to ensure the smooth running of the process, which involves hundreds of people, including tribunal members, management teams, and support staff across the various venues.
