The island of Mallorca is preparing for a new educational era with the upcoming opening of the Beato Luis Belda University Center, which will commence its activities in the 2026-2027 academic year. This center, affiliated with CEU San Pablo University, will focus on training Health Sciences professionals, addressing the need for quality university education in the region and contributing to the academic and professional development of young Balearic residents.
The president of the Balearic Government, Marga Prohens, has highlighted the strategic importance of this project, whose main objective is to foster talent retention on the islands. Prohens emphasized that initiatives like this are crucial for expanding educational and employment opportunities for young people, thereby strengthening the social and economic fabric of Mallorca.
The center has established significant partnerships with entities such as Juaneda Hospitales and RCD Mallorca. These agreements will enable students to undertake internships in top-tier professional environments, integrating into the daily operations of renowned organizations in the healthcare and sports sectors.
The initial academic offering will include official degrees in Medicine, Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Psychology. From the third year onwards, the Medicine degree will feature bilingual places, enhancing the international dimension of medical training. Gradually, degrees in Pharmacy and Dentistry will be added in the 2027-2028 academic year. All programs will place a strong emphasis on practical and applied learning, preparing students for the job market.
Located in Son Serra Parera, the Beato Luis Belda University Center will boast modern facilities, including technologically advanced classrooms, research and clinical simulation laboratories, a library, and study spaces. The building's rehabilitation has adhered to sustainability criteria, integrating the infrastructure into the urban environment of Palma.
The establishment of this center is expected to have a positive impact on the Balearic community by training highly qualified professionals who will contribute to the development of key sectors, particularly healthcare, and encourage young talent to remain on the islands.
The rector of CEU San Pablo University, Rosa Visiedo, reaffirmed the institution's commitment to the academic and social development of the Balearic Islands. Meanwhile, the president of the San Pablo CEU University Foundation, Alfonso Bullón de Mendoza, expressed gratitude for the trust placed by families in their children's education.
