The supply of vacation homes in the Canary Islands has seen a 15% decrease over the past year, according to official data from the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics.

In July 2026, a total of 39,678 vacation homes were advertised on intermediary digital platforms across the archipelago. These properties offered 162,426 accommodation places, marking a 16% reduction compared to the same month of the previous year (July 2025).
This data is part of the Experimental Vacation Home Statistics published by the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (Istac). The report details that the majority of these homes are concentrated in Tenerife, accounting for 41% of the total offering on the islands. It is followed by Gran Canaria with 21%, Lanzarote with 17%, and Fuerteventura with 14%.
During the past month of July, 37,897 of these homes received at least one reservation. This indicates that 95.5% of the homes available on the analyzed digital platforms experienced booking activity.
