The Antigua Town Council, through its Employment and Local Development department, has decided to resume contracts for the 2025-2026 Social Employment Program, despite initial disagreements with the selection criteria.

The decision to proceed with the process comes after the Council formally expressed its disagreement with the interpretation and application of the selection criteria established in the framework agreement between the Canarian Employment Service (SCE) and Fecam.
According to the Antigua Town Council, no response has been received from the SCE regarding the doubts raised about the application of these criteria for the personnel of the Employment Plans.

"With the aim of not harming the beneficiaries or delaying the program's development, the Council has now decided to continue with the hirings, based on the premise that the submitted candidacies meet the requirements established by the SCE."

This measure aims to ensure the program's continuity and prevent delays that could affect beneficiaries, assuming that all submitted applications comply with the requirements defined by the SCE.
