The event, which has established itself as a key date in the Gran Canaria hiking calendar, allowed participants to complete three different itineraries. Groups set off from Pinos de Gáldar, Fontanales, and Las Troyanas, enjoying a day that blends physical activity with the promotion of the island's cultural and natural heritage.
The organization, supported by the Canarian Mountaineering Federation, ensured the safety of the walkers through aid stations and medical assistance along the routes. The longest trail, starting at the Pinos de Gáldar Viewpoint, stood out for its scenic beauty, passing through ecologically valuable areas such as the Osorio Estate before reaching the town center of Teror.
Beyond physical exercise, the project stands out for its technological component, as users have a mobile application to follow the routes and access historical information about traditional pilgrimage paths. The day concluded with a social gathering among participants, who are already planning a future edition that would seek to connect the Virgin of Candelaria in Tenerife with the Virgin of the Pine in Gran Canaria.
