The recording of the program ‘Tenderete’ by TVE Canarias, initially scheduled for September 3 in Teror, has been postponed to October. The reason is the breakage of a crucial part in the transmission control system of the TVE Mobile Unit in the Canary Islands.
According to production assistant María del Pino Ortega Pestana, who informed the Culture Department of the Gran Canaria Island Council, the required part for repair must be acquired in France. The Exploitation and Production Management area of the Canary Islands cannot guarantee its timely arrival for the original recording date, which was set to take place at the Convent of the Dominicas in Teror.
The Nanino Díaz Cutillas Canary Foundation, a sponsoring entity dependent on the Culture Department of the Gran Canaria Island Council, along with the Teror City Council and TVE Canarias, are evaluating the possibility of rescheduling the recording for next October. This cultural program, part of the Fiestas del Pino 2026, celebrates the musical and popular culture of the islands.
The program ‘Tenderete’, considered a collective heritage of the Canarian people and the longest-running on TVE's schedule with over 54 years of history, was also recorded last year, 2025, at the same convent, coinciding with its centenary.
