After 36 years of twinning between the two Marian towns, Teror was part of the procession for the main events honoring Our Lady of Candelaria. Council members Ylenia Sánchez, Laura Quintana, and Geny Santana also participated in the celebration.
On the eve of the Candelaria day, the delegation from Teror, including the mayor and councilwomen, was received by the mayor of Candelaria, Mary Brito. Together, they visited the preparations for the "Guanche Rite" at the Precinct Next to the City Hall. Subsequently, they attended the procession of the Virgin of Candelaria and the Guanche Rite before the Virgin.
On August 15, the main day of the festivity, the delegation from Teror was also present at the military parade and the reception hosted by His Majesty the King, as well as at the Solemn Eucharist.
Candelaria and Teror have been twinned municipalities since 1991. Since then, there has never been a lack of official representation from one municipality at the main festivity of the other.
