Endesa's Networks subsidiary, e-distribución, has finalized the electrical ring closure works in the municipality of Garachico, in northwestern Tenerife. The project, initiated in November, aims to improve energy stability and safety for the locality's approximately 5,000 inhabitants.
The investment of 290,000 euros was allocated to connecting the FP Garachico and El Muelle transformation centers. This new configuration provides redundancy to the electrical system, allowing electricity to have multiple supply paths. In case of an incident, power is automatically rerouted, ensuring service continuity and facilitating maintenance work without power outages.
Endesa also emphasizes security against fraud. Operators from e-distribución or collaborating companies will always carry official identification. The company reminds users that it does not request cash payments at homes for general network repair services, and illegal connections can cause overloads and fires.
This initiative is part of Endesa's strategy, a leader in Spain, for electrification and sustainability. The company aims to integrate the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, working to ensure the archipelago has a modern and efficient distribution network.
