Driven by the Employment and Cleaning departments, led by Deputy Mayor Echedey Eugenio and Councilor Jacobo Lemes respectively, the plan aims to reinforce ordinary cleaning efforts and improve public spaces in the capital of Lanzarote.
Echedey Eugenio emphasized the importance of constant action to achieve a cleaner and more cared-for city, noting that the first phase has allowed for intensified work in numerous areas. He announced that the second phase of this intensive cleaning operation will commence next week in the Los Alonso neighborhood.
This operation, launched last March, has progressively covered different areas of Arrecife, carrying out actions such as street washing with water trucks, thorough cleaning of containers and bins, waste removal, and refurbishment of places requiring special attention, as explained by Jacobo Lemes.
The Councilor for Cleaning reiterated the call for citizen collaboration to maintain public spaces and prevent uncivil practices. He reminded the public of the free municipal bulky waste collection service, available by calling 928 815 560 or via WhatsApp at 629 793 705, and stressed the importance of responsible use of this resource to build a cleaner Arrecife together.
