El Reducto beach in Arrecife has incorporated 10 new adapted sunbeds for people with reduced mobility and enhanced its accessibility services, including restrooms for ostomy patients and a solarium.

Since November, the main beach of the capital of Lanzarote features 10 new adapted sunbeds for individuals with reduced mobility, equipped with sun protection systems. These complement the 160 sunbeds and 80 umbrellas already deployed following a tender by the Beaches Department of the Arrecife City Council.
The new adapted sunbeds are located near the solarium, shower area, and access ramp. The Arrecife City Council, led by mayor Yonathan de León, has prioritized improvements to the beach and its surroundings to boost accessibility. The covered solarium offers amphibious chairs for bathing, assisted by the year-round surveillance and lifeguard staff operating on this Blue Flag awarded beach.
El Reducto is establishing itself as a pioneering beach in Lanzarote by providing a free public service of adapted restrooms for ostomy patients. Additionally, a 24-hour alert system connected to the Arrecife Local Police has been implemented.
The Councilor for Beaches and Environment, Davinia Déniz, highlighted the consistent investments in Arrecife's coastline, mentioning accessibility enhancements at other beaches like La Arena and La Concha. Improvements at El Reducto also include adapted restrooms, free locker services, and extended operating hours for surveillance and facilities, benefiting the revitalized pedestrian zone of Avenida Fred Olsen.
