Arrecife's Technical Office is completing the project evaluation for a new elder care center, to be located on Chupaderos street and spanning over 400 square meters.
The future family respite center in Arrecife, situated on a plot in Los Geranios, on Chupaderos street, next to the Minor's Center in Maneje, is in the final project evaluation phase by the municipal Technical Office. The tender process for the works is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
The planned building will exceed 400 square meters of usable space and will include a main hall, dining room, multipurpose room, offices, kitchenette, storage, and accessible bathrooms. It will also feature a garden and outdoor areas for rest and shade, designed for social activities and community engagement.
The facilities will offer services such as adapted transport, a dining room, personal care, and individualized attention. Cultural, educational, recreational, and preventive activities will be scheduled to stimulate users' physical, cognitive, and social abilities, also promoting intergenerational and social inclusion initiatives.

"This center is born precisely with the objective of offering a place for our elders to meet, socialize, receive care, and companionship. A space designed to foster autonomy, combat unwanted loneliness, and encourage them to remain physically, emotionally, and socially active for as long as possible."
“
"Aging should not mean isolation or losing participation in the life of the municipality. We want our elders to remain part of Arrecife's daily pulse, sharing their experience, interacting, and feeling accompanied."

"From the City Council, we are carrying out significant coordination work to expedite all administrative procedures so that this project can become a reality as soon as possible."
Local sources have reported that the City Council is coordinating efforts to streamline administrative procedures and ensure the project is realized promptly.
