A man who had been missing for several days in Arrecife was found alive last Saturday afternoon near the Argana Alta landfill, thanks to the intervention of a family member and an extensive search operation.

The Emergencias de Lanzarote (Emerlan) NGO had activated a search operation that initially focused on the Argana area and later extended to other towns on the island such as La Santa, El Cuchillo (Tinajo), and Soo (Teguise).
From 2:00 PM on Saturday, Emerlan's operation deployed various resources to maximize the chances of finding the missing person. Drones, K9 units (canine), a High-Altitude Rescue team, and a sanitized ambulance were used, ready to provide immediate medical attention.
Around 7:20 PM on the same Saturday, a family member of the missing man managed to find him between the landfill and the Argana neighborhood, near the road. After initial care and necessary immobilization, the man was transferred by ambulance to the Hospital Universitario Doctor José Molina Orosa for a full medical evaluation.
In addition to Emerlan, personnel from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, Local Police, National Police, and SUC health workers participated in the search operation, highlighting the coordination among the different security and emergency forces.
