Playa Grande in Puerto del Carmen hosts a summer library starting today, an initiative by the Tías City Council, which will be available until July 31st.

The beach library, situated opposite the Atlântico shopping center, will operate during weekday mornings. This project aims to bring culture closer to residents and visitors in an open, holiday setting.
The collection comprises over 3,000 titles in various languages, with a focus on Spanish, English, and German, available for free loan.

"This project represents a commitment to promoting access to culture in open environments, offering locals and visitors the opportunity to enjoy a good book by the sea."

José Juan Cruz Saavedra · Mayor of Tías
In addition to the lending area, the library features a space for storytelling, with shows scheduled every Wednesday before noon. There will also be sessions for adults and activities aimed at schoolchildren.
This initiative repeats the experience from previous summer periods, maintaining a similar dynamic to boost the summer cultural offerings in the area.
