The San Bartolomé City Council has initiated the rescue and lifeguard campaign on Guacimeta and Juan El Curita beaches, which will be active until October 31st to guarantee user safety.

The initiative, supported by the council, aims to provide a safe environment during the summer season. The service will operate daily between 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM, with a team of four professionals.
One of the notable features is the commitment to universal accessibility. Assistance will be provided for bathing for individuals with reduced mobility, and an amphibious chair will be available at Guacimeta beach, facilitating sea access for people with disabilities and the elderly.

"With the arrival of summer and the increase in beachgoers, reinforcing safety becomes an absolute priority for the City Council. We want residents and visitors to enjoy our coastline with maximum peace of mind and the assurance of a professional service prepared to act in any situation."

Isidro Pérez · Mayor of San Bartolomé
The service is equipped with a fully equipped rapid intervention vehicle, a semi-rigid inflatable boat, medical supplies, a defibrillator, and maritime communication equipment to ensure an immediate response to any risk situation.

"Playa Honda is one of the most frequented areas in the municipality, and having a surveillance and rescue service of this nature contributes to offering a safer, more accessible environment prepared to meet the needs of all citizens."

Isidro Pérez · Mayor of San Bartolomé

"This operation is possible thanks to the joint work between the San Bartolomé City Council, the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, and other collaborating entities. Institutional coordination is fundamental to provide an effective response and ensure the safety of those enjoying our beaches."

Mamadou Yero Sy Cisse · Councillor for Citizen Security
