The San Bartolomé City Council has opened the submission period for the third edition of its novel contest, a literary competition that pays tribute to José Saramago and aims to promote literary creation.

Those interested in participating in this contest have until October 30 to submit their proposals. The competition is open to adult individuals residing in Spain.
Submitted novels must have a minimum length of 90 pages and a maximum of 300, and must be written in Spanish. The full terms and conditions of the contest were published this week by the council.

"The aim is to foster novelistic production, support cultural promotion, and facilitate the projection of the municipality of San Bartolomé, through the awarding of a prize for literary creation."

The prize for the winning work amounts to 3,000 euros, in addition to the publication of 300 copies of the novel, 100 of which will be given to the author. The composition of the jury will be announced soon, and their decision is expected by the end of the year.
To formalize registration, participants must attach Annex I of the documentation, available through municipal channels, along with a copy of their identity document and a certificate of residence. Submissions can be made in person, by certified mail, or through the Virtual Registry Office (ORVE).
