El Muelle Chico in El Cotillo came alive on August 15th to celebrate International Youth Day, bringing together young people and families for a day full of leisure, sports, and music.
The initiative, organized by the Youth Department of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura in collaboration with the Festivals Department of the La Oliva City Council, commemorated the international date with high participation. From 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, attendees enjoyed water activities, a foam cannon, and ambient music.
The event also hosted the Fuerteventura Family Gaming Challenge, promoted by the Department of New Technologies, adding a technological dimension to the celebration.

"Celebrating International Youth Day also means recognizing all that young people contribute to Fuerteventura. Their ideas, their initiative, and their way of understanding the world must be present in building the island we want for the coming years."
One of the highlights was the performance by local artist Marta Umpiérrez, followed by the reading of a manifesto that underscored the role of new generations in society and the importance of listening to their concerns and future projects.

"This celebration goes beyond a day of leisure: International Youth Day also reminds us of the importance of listening to young people and involving them in decisions and projects that affect their present and future."
