The Fuerteventura General Hospital has launched an initiative to improve the emotional well-being of hospitalized patients by delivering a personalized birthday greeting card with their breakfast.

This measure aims to provide a gesture of closeness to those who must spend a significant date away from their home and usual environment. The action, which began this week, seeks to transform a routine moment of hospital life into a detail that reinforces the human aspect of healthcare.
The project is the result of collaboration between the Quality Unit, the Catering and Dietetics Service, and the Electronic Medical Record Functional Unit. The initiative is part of the Humanization Strategy of the Canary Islands Health Service, which emphasizes emotional well-being as a fundamental part of patient care.
Although the gesture does not change the reason for admission, the hospital aims for patients to feel recognized and accompanied during their stay. With this action, the hospital incorporates a symbolic element intended to make the hospital experience more bearable on significant days.
