The Fuerteventura Health Area has detected fraudulent calls to food establishments, where individuals impersonate inspectors to announce closures due to alleged pending sanctions.

The Canary Islands Government's Ministry of Health has issued a statement warning businesses in Fuerteventura about a series of deceptive phone calls. In these communications, individuals falsely identify themselves as Public Health Inspection Technicians (TISP), informing establishments about the imminent closure of their premises due to alleged pending sanctions.

"The Fuerteventura Health Area categorically denies that inspection personnel are making these types of calls to island establishments giving closure dates or similar requirements, therefore these are fraudulent communications unrelated to the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS)."

Given this situation, the Health Area has urged establishments receiving such calls not to provide any personal or administrative information. Furthermore, it is strongly recommended to report these incidents to the competent authorities so that appropriate measures can be taken against those responsible for these deceptive practices.
