The island corporation continues to improve its transparency level, reaching a score of 9.43 in the ITCanarias index for the year 2025, according to data from the Canary Islands Transparency Commissioner.
The president of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura, Lola García, stated that this rating reflects the institution's commitment to "approaching citizens, as an institution that listens, accompanies people, and responds." García also highlighted the continuous effort of the technical team and the organization to keep improving in this important area.
For his part, the Transparency Minister, Víctor Alonso, pointed out the work being done by the Cabildo of Fuerteventura to facilitate access to public information, improve communication with citizens, and promote and guarantee their participation in public management.
The minister noted that the Cabildo of Fuerteventura's score has been progressively improving since 2021 (8.37), through 2022 (9.04), 2023-24 (9.28), to reach 9.43 in 2025. Between 2023 and 2026, nearly 200 information requests were answered.
The 2025 evaluation also shows a score of 6.03 out of 7 in the Mandatory Information Compliance Indicator (ICIO), 2.60 out of 2 in the Web Support Compliance Indicator (ICS), 8.63 out of 10 in the Active Publicity Compliance Indicator (ICPA), and 0.80 out of 1 in the Voluntary Transparency Indicator (ITV).
The Canary Islands Transparency Commissioner measures the active transparency and quality of the web portals of over 300 public and private entities in the islands.
