The Fuerteventura Book Fair presents this Sunday, October 18th, at 5:00 PM, in the Symphonic Hall of the Palacio de Formación y Congresos, the contemporary circus show Mahmud y no solo Mahmud, by Puntocero Company.

The production, based on the true story of Mahmud Traoré and featured in the book Partir para contar, addresses migration from a human, political, and artistic perspective. The performance recounts experiences from Senegal to Europe, marked by uncertainty and the struggle for survival.
The show, recommended for ages 12 and up, combines acrobatics, physical theater, and live songs. It aims to give visibility to the many lives and experiences that remain out of focus, highlighting the people behind migration stories and the circumstances that lead them to leave their homes.
Directed by Zenaida Alcalde and dramatized by Silvia Albert Sopale and Alcalde herself, the cast includes Thomas King, Betiza Bismark, Elvis Kyengo Kakiti, Colins Ouna Opiyo, and Joel Bwana Anabaka.
Puntocero Company, founded by Zenaida Alcalde and Miguel Muñoz, has presented this show at various national venues and festivals since its premiere in 2023.
Admission is free, but prior reservation is required via the website culturafuerteventura.es. The Fuerteventura Book Fair, organized by the Island Library Center and the Culture Department of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, thus expands its program with a creation that connects performing arts with memory, literature, and social commitment.
