Mercadona, a company with physical supermarkets and online sales, is currently conducting a selection process to expand its workforce in the Canary Islands for the upcoming summer campaign. The company plans to hire 365 individuals across the archipelago to ensure service excellence during the months of highest tourist influx, reinforcing both its 82 stores and its logistics hubs.
The job openings are for store staff and order pickers. No prior experience is required for these vacancies, as all new employees receive specific, job-adapted training from day one. Labor conditions are highlighted by an initial gross monthly salary of 1,734 euros for full-time positions and 867 euros for part-time roles, figures approximately 22% higher than the Interprofessional Minimum Wage (SMI). Additionally, the 5+2 shift system is applied, guaranteeing two weekly days off and rotating shifts.
The reinforcement campaign will be distributed across the archipelago with a total of 150 vacancies in Gran Canaria, 120 in Tenerife, 45 in Fuerteventura, 40 in Lanzarote, and 10 in La Palma. Within this planning, the company is particularly strengthening recruitment processes in key municipalities due to high summer demand, such as Arrecife (Lanzarote) and Pájara (Fuerteventura).
Mercadona emphasizes that one of the most appreciated values by its team is schedule predictability: employees know their days off in advance, facilitating effective personal organization, even during the summer.
Interested individuals can submit their applications through Mercadona's Employment Portal. The process is digital and allows candidates to consult the requirements and functions of each position by municipality, as well as search for active offers in the provinces of Las Palmas or Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
