The 38th edition of the Fuerteventura Agricultural, Livestock, and Fishing Fair (Feaga) has introduced a significant novelty: the first Majorero Donkey Morphological Contest, an event that underscores the relevance of this native breed on the island.

This competition, organized in collaboration with the Association for the Conservation and Promotion of the Majorero Donkey, has been one of the fair's highlights. Its main objective is to assess the morphological characteristics of the specimens, thus contributing to the preservation of this species.
During the contest, various criteria are evaluated, such as the crucial band on the back, the “cruzaditas” on the legs, and the animal's height. These aspects are fundamental for determining the purity and quality of the breed, which plays a crucial historical and cultural role in Fuerteventura.

"The Majorero Donkey Association 'SOO' Fuerteventura, with a regional scope, contributes with its work to the conservation of this breed, key in the history of Fuerteventura."
