The competition will feature a total of eight races, two per day, with the participation of 31 boats classified in their respective island competitions: eight from Lanzarote, four from La Graciosa, nine from Gran Canaria, and eight from Fuerteventura.
The event, presented at the Juan Ismael Art Center in Puerto del Rosario, was attended by authorities such as the president of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, Lola García; the Director General of Indigenous Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, Lorena Hernández; and the insular councilor for Sports, Luis González, among other institutional and federative representatives.
Lola García highlighted that "Latin sailing is more alive than ever on the Majorera island" and congratulated the federations for their work in increasing participation, including female involvement and fostering new talent.
Lorena Hernández thanked the institutions and federations for their involvement, emphasizing the growth in female participation as a "source of pride" and the importance of preserving this tradition.
Luis Toledo, president of the Canarian Federation of Latin Sail Boats, underscored the sporting and cultural value of the championship, now in its thirty-fifth edition, as an opportunity for competition and the preservation of Canarian culture and identity, especially among young people.
Pascual Perdomo, president of the Fuerteventura Insular Federation, expressed his satisfaction at hosting the championship again and thanked the support received from institutions and island clubs.
