Alert for fuel tank explosion in Telde

The Directorate General of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands has declared an alert due to a deflagration in a fuel tank at the Salinetas industrial estate, in Telde, Gran Canaria.

The Directorate General of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands, applying the Special External Emergency Plan for the risk of serious accidents involving dangerous substances (RISQCAN), has declared an alert situation. The incident occurred at 12:10 PM following a deflagration near the DISA-Salinetas facilities.
The structure of the fuel tank has suffered severe damage as a result of the explosion. Three workers have been affected by the event. RISQCAN has been activated for incident monitoring.
