The Gran Canaria Gloria Windsurf World Cup has begun its competitive phase in Pozo Izquierdo, prioritizing the U15 category heats due to wind and wave conditions.

The 38th edition of this PWA world circuit event has officially started in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana. Due to light winds, the race committee adjusted the schedule to allow young athletes to open the wave discipline.
Following a waiting period, the competition launched with 16-knot winds. Using a scoring format based on two jumps and one wave, two men's heats were completed. The results highlighted the participants' ability to adapt to the marine environment of the Gran Canaria coast.

"We have tried to run as many heats as possible for the youngest group competing in this world championship, but the conditions only allowed us to finish two U15 men's heats."
