The municipality of Gáldar, in Gran Canaria, is preparing to present an unprecedented aerial show on Friday, July 24th, at 10:00 PM. Hundreds of drones will illuminate the historic center with a choreography specially designed for the Fiestas Mayores de Santiago, blending cutting-edge technology with festive tradition.
The exhibition will feature 14 aerial figures created for this edition, inspired by the spirit of local celebrations. The company UMILES, a European leader in such displays, will bring this luminous proposal to life, marking its fifth consecutive year in Gáldar.
Organizers emphasize that this year's show has been completely revamped and adapted to the identity of the Fiestas Mayores de Santiago, aiming to surprise both regular attendees and first-time visitors. The performance will take place in the municipality's emblematic historic center.
Drone shows have become a sustainable and visually striking alternative to traditional fireworks. These displays produce no waste or excessive noise, making them accessible to sensitive groups such as children, the elderly, pets, or individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
The Gáldar City Council is thus embracing technological innovation to enhance its festivals, preserving tradition while offering a captivating experience. The relationship between the municipality and drone shows dates back to 2019, establishing it as a fixed event in the festive program.
UMILES, the responsible company, boasts extensive international experience but highlights the continuity achieved in Gáldar, where this will be their fifth consecutive performance.
