This competition, celebrating its eleventh edition, is internationally recognized in the trail running world. Participants will face a course of over 240 kilometers and an elevation gain exceeding 12,000 meters, spread over five days of extreme difficulty.
Since its inception in 2017, the race has solidified its global prestige thanks to a unique format: the route is revealed only ten days before the start, it is unmarked, and it unfolds in changing natural conditions. Mastery of orientation, sleep management, and impeccable personal logistics are crucial for reaching the finish line. Life bases, strategically located along the route, are the only support points available to runners.
“"Gáldar will be the origin of the impossible. This is not just a race; it is a pure test of survival."
The previous edition in 2025 saw a record participation of 107 athletes from 22 nationalities, with 84 successfully completing the challenge. Among the highlights of that year, a Canarian runner achieved overall victory, and the women's podium was led by an international athlete, accompanied by two Canarian runners. The event also broke audience records with a 30-hour live broadcast.
A spokesperson for the 360º The Challenge Gran Canaria organization noted that choosing Gáldar as the starting point reinforces the race's unique character. They emphasized that the municipality, with its distinct identity, history, and landscape, perfectly aligns with the spirit of self-sufficiency and extreme adventure that defines the competition. The event, organized by Arista Eventos, is sponsored by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through Turismo de Gran Canaria and the Insular Sports Institute; the Government of Canarias with Promotur – Islas Canarias; the Gáldar City Council; the Tejeda City Council; Joma; and Fred. Olsen Express; with additional collaboration from several companies.
