This Tuesday, the Gran Canaria Chamber of Commerce hosted a Moroccan delegation, continuing the institutional mission that took place in Agadir last January. During that visit, both entities signed a collaboration agreement, laying the groundwork for the current deepening of their relationship.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Fuerteventura Chamber of Commerce, the Souss Massa Chamber of Commerce, the Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco, and directors from various Canarian institutions, as well as a broad representation of the island's business sector.
“"Progress in relations with the Souss Massa Chamber has been highlighted, identifying common strategic objectives aimed at strengthening business cooperation between both regions."
A central point of discussion was the need to establish a direct maritime connection between Agadir and the Canary Islands. This route is considered fundamental for facilitating trade exchanges and fostering joint economic development between the two geographical areas.
Furthermore, various lines of collaboration were explored in priority sectors such as digitalization, trade, and notably, tourism—areas with significant shared growth potential. Both parties committed to working together on identifying and securing European projects that can act as a financing lever for future initiatives.
