Las Canteras beach in Gran Canaria was the scene for the closing of the Gran Canaria Surf No Limit Fundación DISA and the Gran Canaria Longboard Challenge, crowning the national adaptive surf and longboard champions.

The sporting weekend concluded with the celebration of two major surfing competitions on the island of Gran Canaria. The Gran Canaria Surf No Limit Fundación DISA, which hosted the Spanish Parasurfing Championship 2026, and the Gran Canaria Longboard Challenge, a national longboard circuit event, brought together the country's top athletes at Las Canteras beach.
In the parasurfing discipline, the 2026 national titles went to prominent figures. Aitor Francesena and Ibon Oregi (Basque Country), Sarah Almagro (Málaga), Gary González and Marcos Tapia (Canary Islands) emerged victorious in their respective categories. Other Spanish champions included Úrsula Pueyo, Paloma Oñate, Ángel Luis Curiel, Eduardo Odriozola, Saioa Huarte, Mireia Cabañes, Carmen López, and Xavier Ayestarán.
Las Canteras beach buzzed with the excitement and skill of the competitors, who delivered a high-level spectacle to a large crowd. Notably, Aitor Francesena secured victory in Visual 1, retaining his title with a score of 12.50, while Andrés Campos was the runner-up. In the Kneel category, Ibon Oregi achieved a perfect 10-point wave to clinch his championship, and Úrsula Puello was crowned the women's champion.
Local athlete Gary González demonstrated his dominance in the Visual 2 category with a combination of maneuvers that impressed the judges. The longboard competition also provided spectacular moments, with Nicolás García (Asturias) winning the Men's Open after a close battle with Jon Garmendia (Basque Country). In the women's category, Belgian resident in the Canary Islands, Mía Ramakers, triumphed over Tenerife's Lorena Mazzola.
The event also recognized young talent and master categories. Martín García (Asturias) dominated the U18 category, while Jaran Rodríguez and Claudia Luchetta were crowned champions in the Men's and Women's Masters, respectively. Tony Araya (Catalonia) took the title in the Grand Masters.
Beyond the competition, the event promoted environmental awareness with a beach clean-up organized by Oceans4life Gran Canaria and offered a yoga class on the sand led by Ysyoga, enhancing the experience at one of the world's best urban beaches.
The awards ceremony was attended by representatives from the Fundación DISA, the Spanish Surfing Federation, and MPG Events. Vicente Pérez, director of MPG Events, described the edition as the most complete to date, highlighting the spectacular performances and the life lessons provided by the parasurfers, as well as the large turnout of fans.
