The Gran Canaria Stadium has begun its transformation to host the Rally Islas Canarias Super Special, with adaptation work starting after the UD Las Palmas match and continuing until Wednesday.

The adaptation work at the Gran Canaria Stadium for the Rally Islas Canarias Super Special, scheduled for Thursday and Friday, commenced immediately after the match between UD Las Palmas and Leganés. Overnight, operational teams were tasked with removing LED lights, perimeter fencing, and adjacent benches and seats.
From six in the morning, the removal of the 7,000 square meters of artificial turf surrounding the main playing field began. Subsequently, the circuit will be marked around the pitch, ensuring the natural grass remains untouched and undamaged. Asphalting tasks are planned for Sunday, and the Siete Palmas venue is expected to be fully prepared by Wednesday, meeting all the requirements set by the Rally organization.
A team of approximately one hundred individuals, with diverse responsibilities, has been mobilized for these adaptation efforts. Two companies, Corsúa and Lopesan, are in charge of executing these works at Canarias' largest sports facility, aiming to prepare the stadium for a globally impactful event. The entire process is being carried out under a strict safety protocol to ensure no occupational hazards.
The competitive schedule of UD Las Palmas has facilitated this transformation, as the team brought forward its home match and will not play as host again until Sunday, May 3. This timeframe is sufficient for the stadium to return to its usual configuration once the Rally events conclude.
