The initiative, celebrating its ninth edition, has brought together over 120 people, including developers, composers, scriptwriters, and illustrators, all key profiles in the industry. The main goal is to foster teamwork and the specialization of local talent in the video game field, as reported by the Island Council.
“"The event aims to be a space to promote talent, facilitate contact with companies, and encourage job integration in the sector, in addition to contributing to positioning the island as a creative and technological hub."
The event is driven by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, through the Society for Economic Promotion of Gran Canaria (SPEGC), within the framework of the Digital Crea Gran Canaria initiative. Throughout the development process, participants receive professional guidance and support from expert mentors who answer questions and guide creative work until Sunday noon, the deadline for project submission.
As a new feature, this edition coincides with the Ludum Dare Jam, an international platform that will allow remote voting on the video game theme from various countries. Participants will learn this theme at the start of their work. The public presentation of the projects will take place on Sunday from 3:30 PM, before a jury of professionals who will choose the best video game and recognize both team and individual efforts.
