A 68-year-old woman sustained moderate injuries after falling in the Azuaje ravine, in the municipality of Moya, Gran Canaria, requiring emergency teams for her rescue and hospital transfer.

The incident occurred around 12:12 PM on Thursday, April 16, 2026, as reported by the Canary Islands 112 Emergency and Security Coordinating Center. The woman suffered a significant blow to her legs, classified as a moderate lower limb trauma.
Due to the difficult access to the site of the fall, the intervention of personnel from the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium was necessary. Firefighters were responsible for providing initial care to the affected woman and evacuating her to an accessible area.
Once in a safe location, basic life support ambulance personnel from the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC) took charge of the woman. After assessing her condition, they confirmed the trauma and proceeded to transfer her to the Hospital Universitario de Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín for specialized medical attention.
Agents from the Local Police also arrived at the scene, actively collaborating in the emergency operation deployed to ensure safety and the smooth execution of the rescue efforts.
