The event, which awarded over 60 specimens of bovine, caprine, ovine, and equine livestock, including native breeds and milk production criteria, became a grand celebration for livestock farming and the primary sector. The Experimental Agricultural Farm of the Cabildo registered a hive of visitors from early morning, with entire families touring the stables where nearly 1,200 animals from 72 livestock farms were exhibited.
The fair served not only as a showcase for the best specimens but also as a meeting point for farmers and citizens. Attendance far exceeded expectations, highlighting the public's interest in closely learning about the work and sacrifices of field professionals. The Veterinarian Pedro Suárez Pérez award for the best bull in the country was one of the notable accolades.
The president of the Cabildo, Antonio Morales, described the event as "an essential space for the livestock sector" and a recognition of the professionals' annual dedication. He emphasized the "extraordinary public reception," estimating around 40,000 people gathered over the weekend, and defined the fair as "the great festival of Gran Canaria's livestock farming."
Beyond the livestock competition, the fair offered a wide range of local products, including artisanal cheeses, fruits, honeys, and sweets. Animals such as the Presa Canario dog and the black pig were also exhibited, along with agricultural machinery and products for the primary sector, completing a diverse offering that attracted a varied audience.
The large attendance caused parking problems, with vehicles parked on the shoulders of the northern highway (GC-2) as it passed through Arucas, highlighting the need for improved logistics for future events of this magnitude.
