The documentary short film Abril, hoy no es invierno, partially filmed in Gran Canaria, has been named Best Documentary Short Film at the tenth edition of the Fugaz Awards.

The awards ceremony, considered a benchmark in the Spanish short film industry, took place on June 22 at the Kinépolis Ciudad de la Imagen cinemas in Madrid.
The film depicts a real-life story from the Canary Islands: the commercial sexual exploitation of a woman with cerebral palsy. The work aims to highlight the specific vulnerability of women with disabilities to gender-based violence, focusing on listening and reparation.
The project was co-produced by Videoreport Canarias and received institutional support from the Insular Directorate of Equality and Diversity of the Cabildo de Tenerife.
