The documentary, to be screened at the Parque del Buen Suceso in El Carrizal at 8:00 PM, aims to highlight the dedication and commitment of individuals who have left a significant mark on the municipality's life, contributing to its unique identity.
The initiative, part of the Festivities of Our Lady of Buen Suceso, San Roque, and San Haragán, will offer an audiovisual journey through the recent history of Ingenio and El Carrizal. It will showcase memories, experiences, and testimonies of those who, through their work, vocation, and dedication, have enhanced the municipality's culture, traditions, and human heritage.
This edition will recognize the work of Siso Olivares Ramírez for his commitment to volunteering, altruism, and faith; Isabel Sánchez Cabrera, president of AFC Guayadeque and a reference in folklore preservation; Isabel Hernández Acosta, a calado monitor and president of the Caladoras Association; Juan Ramón Landeira Medina, involved in neighborhood, associative, and political movements; and Alberto Viera Salgado, a local artist whose sculptures are part of the urban landscape.
The documentary will also present the stories of Josefa «Pepita» Bravo de Laguna Santana, a seamstress and artisan specializing in traditional Canarian attire; Paco Afonso Cabrera, linked to sports and Canarian wrestling; Georgina «Gina» Morales Sánchez, one of the country's first female postwomen and active in cultural and social life; and Marina Martel López, representing the local commercial sector for her professional career at the helm of the Brisa Marina Carrizal laundry.
With this installment, «Aquí nuestra gente» reaffirms its goal of centering the festivities on people, recognizing those who have contributed to building the municipality's identity across diverse fields such as culture, sports, commerce, craftsmanship, associations, and social action.
