The V Path of Values-Walking for Seniors Conference will commence this Thursday in Santiago de Tunte, Gran Canaria, bringing together prominent professionals to reflect on the importance of transmitting values between generations and the role of seniors in contemporary society.

Driven by the UP2U Project association and chaired by a magistrate, these conferences will span two days in San Bartolomé de Tirajana. The gathering will bring together jurists, educators, philosophers, social experts, communicators, and institutional representatives to analyze crucial topics such as the protection of vulnerable individuals, the culture of effort, and resilience.
The event, scheduled for May 14 and 15, will also serve as a prelude to the tenth edition of the Canarian Path. This route, starting on May 16 from Santiago de Tunte, will conclude on Sunday in Santiago de Gáldar, after crossing various points of the island and the emblematic Cruz de Tejeda.
The inauguration of the conference will take place on Thursday at 09:30 AM, with the participation of the mayors of San Bartolomé de Tirajana and Gáldar, alongside the magistrate. The first major presentation, at 10:00 AM, will be given by a renowned expert in the modern Xacobeo, who will speak on 'The Path We Invent for the Future', highlighting the value of traditions in guiding young people.
Thursday's program will include a panel on 'Respect as a Core Subject', exploring how to integrate the experience of seniors into 21st-century classrooms. In the afternoon, resilience and intergenerational dialogue will be addressed, with a talk on the capacity for overcoming challenges by seniors as an example for youth, followed by a youth-senior dialogue panel on the culture of effort.
On Friday, the day will focus on justice and self-improvement. A magistrate from the Supreme Court and former Attorney General will deliver a keynote speech at 10:00 AM on 'Avoiding the Revictimization of Vulnerable People: A Duty of Justice'. Subsequently, at 11:00 AM, an international speaker specializing in violence prevention will participate in the panel 'The Forgiveness that Liberates', sharing lessons of peace and reconciliation.
The spiritual closing, led by the director of the Santiago Cathedral Foundation, will take place at 2:00 PM with the intervention 'Hospitality as Destiny', emphasizing the value of embracing old age. The official closing of the conference is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
