The new president succeeds another professor from the same Canarian academic institution, who held the position between 2021 and 2026.
Founded in the United States in 1982, the association aims to promote goat farming through environmentally sustainable and socially fair practices. Its work focuses on bridging the gap between research and the production sector by sharing knowledge and best practices to improve the livelihoods of farmers, particularly those with limited resources.
The new president is a veterinarian trained at the ULPGC. His research has focused on goat physiology, meat and milk quality, and colostrum biology. With over three hundred scientific publications, he received an institutional award for his research activity in 2023.
