The Department of Education of the La Guancha City Council has opened applications for study grants for the 2025/2026 academic year, totaling 50,000 euros, benefiting students residing in the municipality.

The Guancha council, through its Education department headed by Elena Hernández, has launched the grant call aimed at students pursuing Baccalaureate, Intermediate and Higher Vocational Training Cycles, University Degrees, and Qualifying Master's degrees. Students undertaking Baccalaureate and Vocational Training in public centers outside the municipality are also eligible.
The call for applications, with a budget of 50,000 euros, includes various grants to cover expenses for transportation, school supplies, and tuition fees. The application period will run from Monday, May 18, to June 6.

"As a main novelty for this edition, we have incorporated a change in the economic assessment system for applications, so that for the calculation of family unit income, net income will be considered instead of gross income, as was done in previous calls."

Applications can be submitted through the municipal electronic headquarters at www.laguancha.es, where official application forms and all necessary information are published. They can also be processed in person at the General Registry of the City Council, Monday to Friday, between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
The department reminds applicants that these grants are compatible with those awarded by the Ministry of Education and Science, the Government of the Canary Islands, the Tenerife Island Council, or other public or private institutions for the same purposes. The only exception is for tuition fee grants, which are not compatible if a grant for this purpose has already been received from another administration.
