The political group Iniciativa por La Gomera has expressed its concern regarding the situation of the children's park in Alojera, questioning the nature of the interventions being carried out. According to the group, the only visible elements at the site are some pipes and a makeshift tarpaulin that barely serve their purpose, suggesting a lack of progress in the project.
For the representatives of Iniciativa por La Gomera, it is unreasonable for a project of this nature to extend for so long without clear advancements, and without an apparent plan with a beginning and an end, which is essential for any public undertaking. This situation deprives children and visitors in Alojera of a basic recreational space, leading some minors to even jump fences, posing a significant safety risk due to the lack of alternatives.
The group has also questioned the lack of follow-up from municipal officials, asking about the role of the responsible councilor or the works manager in supervising the ongoing tasks. A spokesperson for the group noted that this issue is not an isolated incident, as the neglect and deterioration of children's parks are recurring in various parts of the municipality, creating a domino effect.
