The Cabildo de La Gomera has initially approved its budget for 2027, amounting to 93.57 million euros, aiming to enhance social care, sustainability, public transport, and educational and economic opportunities on the island.

The governing council of the island institution gave the green light to the accounts, which prioritize improving citizens' lives through public investment. President Casimiro Curbelo emphasized that the budget seeks to "transform public resources into more opportunities and a better life for the people of La Gomera," addressing the needs of families and supporting those who study, work, or conduct their activities on the island.

Mobility and infrastructure will receive 7.7 million euros for public transport and 7.9 million for infrastructure, in addition to 2.4 million for housing and 1.9 million for employment promotion.
The joint area of education, culture, heritage, youth, and sports will have 7.7 million euros. Within educational support, scholarships will receive 1.8 million, supplemented by aid for Erasmus (80,000 euros), transport (400,000 euros), and textbooks (200,000 euros).

The objective is for the institution to have the necessary accounts from the beginning of the fiscal year to carry out planned actions and ensure the continuity of services.
