Of the four patients initially hospitalized in Tenerife, one was discharged on Sunday afternoon. The remaining three include one individual whose condition is improving and two who are stable but in serious condition. In La Gomera, no one remains hospitalized due to this incident.
The tragic event occurred on Friday when a tourist bus carrying 28 people plunged down a ten-meter embankment at kilometer 4.500 of the GM-2 road in San Sebastián de La Gomera. The accident resulted in the death of a 77-year-old British tourist, and the rest of the occupants, including the driver, sustained injuries of varying degrees.
Immediately after the accident, three of the injured were airlifted to Tenerife, admitted to Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria and Hospital Universitario de Canarias. The remaining affected individuals were evacuated to Hospital Insular Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe in La Gomera. Subsequently, on Saturday afternoon, another person was transferred from La Gomera to Tenerife for specialized medical care.
The bus, belonging to the company Gomera Tours, experienced the mishap around 13:20 hours, prompting a rapid mobilization of emergency services to assist those affected.
