The tourism offices of La Gomera will join the celebration of World Tourism Day starting Monday, September 28th. The initiative aims to offer visitors and tourists a welcome experience that connects with the island's culture, traditions, and emblematic products.
The insular Minister of Tourism, Commerce, and Consumption, María Isabel Méndez, explained that during the week, the offices will adopt a special ambiance. This decoration will be inspired by the Gomera identity, featuring still lifes and compositions with traditional crafts, musical instruments, and other cultural elements. The goal is to create an environment that allows visitors to discover the island's most unique heritage traits from their arrival.
The proposal will also include tastings of representative local products from La Gomera. Attendees will be able to sample island fruits, honeys, cookies, almogrote, traditional sweets, and other preparations. This showcase aims to highlight the diversity, quality, and authenticity of local production.
Through this action, tourism offices are intended to reinforce their role not only as information centers but also as meeting points that bring visitors closer to the cultural and gastronomic identity of La Gomera. Visitors will be able to experience firsthand products, crafts, and cultural expressions that are part of its heritage, thereby enriching the tourist experience.
Additionally, office staff will provide information and guidance on establishments, shops, workshops, and markets where the displayed products and crafts can be purchased. Visitors will be encouraged to continue exploring the island through its craftsmanship, gastronomy, and local productions.
