A total of 24 people, including 19 minors and five adults, have been affected by a suspected food poisoning incident after a school celebration on La Palma, health officials report.

The Health Area Directorate of La Palma and the General Directorate of Public Health of the Canary Islands Health Service (SCS) are investigating a potential foodborne illness outbreak that has affected 24 individuals on the island. Of those affected, 19 are minors and five are adults.
According to the Ministry of Health of the Government of Canarias, the affected individuals participated in a school celebration organized after a graduation ceremony held last weekend at a Secondary Education institute on the island.
All registered cases exhibit mild symptoms and are recovering favorably, with no hospital admissions reported.
Following the notification of the first suspected cases, the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit of the General Directorate of Public Health activated the established protocol for such incidents and initiated an epidemiological study to determine the source of the poisoning.
Health authorities are maintaining active surveillance and continue to monitor the situation for any potential new cases.
