The Los Llanos de Aridane City Council has launched the 'Sembramos para ti' (We Sow for You) campaign to revitalize the Farmers' Market, promoting local product consumption and supporting the island's primary sector.
This new initiative, which began on April 12, seeks to strengthen the local economy and market activity through a raffle system. For every 5 euros spent at participating stalls, customers will receive a ticket to enter a monthly draw for a box of fresh produce, directly supplied by the farmers.
“
"This action seeks to strengthen the bond between producers and consumers, highlighting the value of local products and creating a direct incentive to shop at the Farmers' Market."
The Councillor for Commerce and Local Development, Verónica González, emphasized the importance of this campaign in consistently boosting market activity and attracting more visitors every Sunday. Meanwhile, Mayor Javier Llamas highlighted the fundamental role the Farmers' Market plays in the local economy and the daily life of Sundays in Los Llanos de Aridane.
“
"We consider it a key space for the local economy and for our Sundays. We want our neighbors and all citizens of the Valley to come to our stalls, consume genuine zero-kilometer products, and have a good time in Los Llanos de Aridane."
The draws will take place on the second Sunday of each month during market opening hours, with prizes delivered the following Sunday. To participate, tickets must be deposited in the designated urn before 13:00 on the day of the draw. The campaign is funded by the City Council, which covers organizational and promotional costs, while the prizes are provided by the market stalls themselves at no additional cost to the administration.
