The boat's crew reported their situation by making a distress call past two in the morning to the Coordination Center of Las Palmas of Maritime Rescue. The state-owned company activated the rescue vessel Salvamar Al Nair to search for them.
Cooperation was requested from other vessels transiting the area to locate the ship and gather more information. The vessel Ciudad de Valencia responded, found the fishing boat, and waited nearby until the Salvamar arrived.
Due to the significant distance, approximately 70 miles from Arrecife, the firm towing operation could not commence until nine in the morning. The return journey to Lanzarote then began, with arrival at the port estimated for around eight in the evening.
The good condition of its crew, eleven in total, has been confirmed.
Sources from Maritime Rescue did not specify the name of the rescued fishing boat or its home port, but confirmed that all eleven crew members are in good health.
